What was your first blog camera? Mine was a Sony Alpha Nex 6. I’ve always been fond of Sony cameras due to their compact size and their smart functionalities. So when Sony Australia reached out to me and offered for me to use their Sony DSC-RX100M5A compact camera I was thrilled. Finding your first blog camera can be daunting, especially with so many cameras to sort through. When I was searching for my first camera with my photographer Nick, Sony stood out because it ticked all the right boxes.
The three things I always look for in a fashion blogging camera is
- can it connect to my phone
- can I change file type (eg. jpeg to arw)
- can I fit it in my bag (yes! it helps a lot!)

EVENT SHOOTING
There is so many things to capture when shooting at events. Whether it be the food, guest speakers or just a simple outfit shot. Normally when I go to an event I need to capture images that explain why I’m here, what we are doing and how it all happened. This all needs to be done quickly and discretely. Fashion events can be tricky because there are speeches and you are talking to people, so you don’t want to disturb the flow of the events.
The Sony DSC-RX100M5A compact camera has a silent shutter mode which is perfect for events. It allows you to snap away with ease, this also helps you capture more candid moments. As you can see below at the Indooroopilly event I attended there were many people and there was a presentation. So we were able to capture the shots with ease and without disturbing the event. And yes the bag I am holding fits the camera, literally the perfect accessory to an outfit!
