FASHION WEEK-CATION WITH THE COLLECTIONIST HOTEL

THE COLLECTIONIST HOTEL

When it comes to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week  Australia in Sydney I always love to indulge and experience the new local hotels. Previously I’ve stayed at The Urban Newtown and it was a great experience you can read my whole review here. Now the team behind The Urban Newtown has a new hotel to add to their portfolio.

The Collectionist Hotel located on Marsden St, Camperdown in Sydney you will find this gorgeous hotel. Now you might be thinking this is just like your typical boutique hotel but it is not. The Collectionist Hotel has seamless digital check in, putting you in control of your experience. How it works is you get a code texted to your phone.  You enter the hotel and a concierge member will help you select a room. This is where the experience gets truly unique. YOU CAN SELECT YOUR OWN ROOM! You select from what rooms are available out of their 39 custom designed by artists. Each one has their own character, flair and size. In the following categories Bootstrap, Moonshiner, Tinkerer and Artisan. So depending on what size you book, you’ll be shown the available rooms in your categories.

When Nick and I checked in we had been given an Artisan experience. So we chose the Rita Velour room. The Rita Velour room had all the amenities you need. A kitchen, ensuite bathroom and a large courtyard. And the interior was so plush and artisan at heart. With beautiful furniture and marble details to match the rooms aesthetic of the room.  The Collectionist Hotel concierge team are very friendly, helpful. If you have any issues they are literally a call or text away. Another perk is the internet, the speeds were out of this world, perfect for my uploads of runway shows from Fashion Week. Oh and the bed was soooo comfortable I could have slept in there forever. A exciting fact is the hotel is TV free, which is perfect for you to unwind and unplug after a busy day.
The location of the hotel is perfect! So close to the buzzing Newtown strip with plenty of restaurants (and delicious Vegan ones – you must try Golden Lotus!). If you want to see Sydney’s sights it’s only a quick drive or Uber ride to the City. I am truly grateful for the experience and can not wait to visit the hotel again. I highly recommend The Collectionist Hotel to anyone who is looking to have a unique and fun experience when travelling to Sydney. Trust me you won’t regret it and yes they have parking just make sure to call up and book before arrival.

This is the mini bar area is outside the rooms where you can call up and get a drink or take a free snack from the top. Perfect for when you are a little bit peckish or exploring the other rooms open for display as I did below.
