Ever wanted to have just more than a pair of sunglasses? A pair of sunglasses that not only look good but give back at the same time? If you answered yes to those two questions, I have the perfect eyewear for you, Proof wooden sunglasses.

Now I am a sunglasses fanatic, I love the different shapes, textures and shiny lenses brands can create with sunglasses. But never have I owned a pair of wooden frames, so finding out about Proof Eyewear was quite exciting. The hand-made sustainable eyewear company uses a various range of hardwoods, such as bamboo, ebony, lace wood and many more. Making a truly unique pair of sunglasses.

Founded by the three Dame Brothers, who grew up in the wood industry with a grandfather that started a small sawmill business that flourished into their large family business. The three brothers ventured into Proof in 2011 and have never looked back. Proof Eyewear is paving the way for sustainability in eyewear initiating the first recycling program. As they value the environment Proof has trees replanted to replace the wood used for each pair of sunglasses. What a beautiful way to give thanks to our home planet.

The Dame brothers also donate a large portion of Proof’s profits to sight giving charities in India, Haiti and more, helping people who can’t afford cataract correction surgeries get their eyesight back. This is part of their Do Good program Learn more about their Do Good Program below.

The Dame brothers raised $25,000 from the sales of Proof Eyewear to open two eye clinics in Pattamadai in 2013. See their incredibly moving story, where they visited India to open the first Proof Eyewear clinic.

 

There is nothing more beautiful than the gift of eyesight, as Helen Keller said “There is no better way to thank God for your sight than by giving a helping hand to someone in the dark.” Proof eyewear is endlessly giving, with special quotes engraved into the side of each sunglasses, my Banks Eco Sunglasses reads “Adventure Awaits.”
