8 TIPS TO INCREASE INSTAGRAM STORY VIEWS

1. PRE-PLAN

USING IMAGERY & VIDEO FROM YOUR CAMERA ROLL

Instagram Stories need to be engaging and fun – so try not to bombard your audience. Make sure you always have quality content. You can do this in 2 ways.

  1. By taking images & video via your camera then uploading
  2. Taking imagery & video in the in-built camera app on your phone

Then all you do is simply swipe up on the stories camera, and you’ll see the latest content from your camera roll appear at the bottom of your screen. Then select the content you’d like to add to your story. Pretty easy right?

2. ALWAYS REPLY

HELLO – IS IT ME YOU’RE LOOKING FOR?

Getting Instagram Story Views is all about interaction. So when someone says “oh I love that” in a direct message respond! People love it when you respond back – it’s not only rewarding but shows you care about them taking time to talk to you.

Even if it’s a love heart or a thank you – a little conversation like that goes a long way!

3. STICKER UP!

WHO DOESN’T LOVE A GOOD STICKER?

You can enhance your Instagram Story experience by adding in a little colour. And a sticker is the perfect way to do that! There is literally so many (the whole emoji keyboard) plus ones Instagram has created for you to share. Plaster them on your post to spruce it up and make it stand out.

4. CALL TO ACTION

GIVE THEM MORE AND MORE!

Make sure to utilise the “see more” function. On the top right hand of your screen you will see this  tap on it! Then add a link to your blog post or the product. You can see in the analytics how many have tapped it too.

This is the perfect way to extend the experience to your blog and create a world your audience can live in. Seriously it’s one of the best features of Instagram Story.

5. ADD YOUR LOCATION

HELLO! I’M OVER HERE

Another grand feature of Instagram Stories is that you can add your location. Now this sounds a bit scary but it really isn’t. It’s a great way to reach the viewers of your location. Simply tap the sticker icon on the right hand top corner, then select location. Next search your location – now the bigger radius the better. So instead of your suburb choose your state. The bigger the net the more people will view you.

6. WHY NOT POLL IT?

I NEED YOUR OPINION

This is one of my all time favourite Instagram Story features. The Poll! It’s perfect for interacting with your audience. Not only do they get to put their opinion out there – it’s anonymous who has voted what & they can see the results. It’s a great way to gauge what your audience enjoys too!

From which pair of sunglasses do you like to have you been here before? It’s a great way to interact. Simply tap the sticker button on the top right hand corner of the screen – then select the poll option.

7. #HASHTAG

WHY NOT JUST #?

Just like adding your location this, helps your reach a broader audience. If you hashtag something relevant to the content it shows up in a hashtag feed. So go on hashtag until your hear is content.

8. CURATE IT

DON’T BE AFRAID TO CUT OUT CONTENT

Sometimes I have more than 1 event on each day. But you don’t want to overload your audience. There are two types of viewers

  1. They follow your story moment by moment
  2. They watch it one in a while & watch it full

So we have a problem the new person coming to view your already quite busy story might get bored. So make sure to watch your own story from beginning to end – if you see something boring. CUT IT OUT! This way you keep your content fresh and new. Especially for new visitors.
