QUICK COCAO SMOOTHIE

QUICK COCAO SMOOTHIE

This is one thing in the morning I simply can’t live without, so delicious and filling! I find this is best thing, to throw into a mason jar or create your own smoothie mix up from.

Why Cocoa instead of good old coco powder? Here’s 5 facts about the magical cocoa powder.

1. The difference between cacao and cocoa: Cacao is the bean. Cocoa is the product that is made from it.

2. Every stage of cocoa production is done by hand: planting, irrigating, harvesting, fermenting and drying. Another reason why fine chocolate justifies its price.

3. Protects your nervous system: Cacao is high in resveratrol, a potent antioxidant also found in red wine, known for its ability to cross your blood-brain barrier to help protect your nervous system.

4. Boosts your mood: cocoa can increase levels of certain neurotransmitters that promote a sense of well-being. And the same brain chemical that is released when we experience deep feelings of love – phenylethylamine – is found in chocolate.

5. Reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease.
