I’ve teamed up with Westfield to create a key trend look for this summer. So I decided to share one of my all time favourite wardrobe staples when it comes to summer; my Australian alternative to the LBD (Little Black Dress) the White Summer Dress (WSD, if you like!). What’s great about this piece is how flexible it is, just as much as the LBD. Only a week or so ago, I was at Brisbane Fashion Month talking with a friend of mine and we came to the realisation of how much good a white dress can do for you in Australia. It’s perfect for relaxed lunches, dinners, late afternoon dates, events and weekend getaways – it’s just as timeless as the LBD. I’m definitely not saying replace the LBD but find it’s balance in your wardrobe rotation with a WSD.

My top 3 tips for dressing up a White Summer Dress

Don’t be afraid of a little bling

Fashion has moved towards a minimalist jewellery trend, which I embraced but I think it’s time to invest in statement jewellery (if you already have, get it out!). My favourite at the moment is rose gold or silver, keeps the look fresh & light.

Add a pastel

As you may have noticed in this post I’ve added a pastel touch. I find this an exciting way to add a splash of colour. I did this with the Forever New Sepia Rose Backpack & Bett’s Ollie Blush Heel.

Experiment with the accessories

Don’t ignore that part of your brain that says “Why not try a something different this time” when choosing your outfit for the day. I am a true believer in trying out quirky ideas. That’s why I tied a pastel floral scarf to my backpack, it’s unexpected and adds a summer flow to the look. Always be daring with your fashion!
